WTGF Management

Our directors provide input to guide the long-term success of the Organization while fulfilling their fiduciary duty to our Global Togolese Community. The board, in accordance with the WTGF Governance Guidelines , has responsibility for establishing broad policies and overseeing the executive branch, which has responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the organization. The board members are kept informed about the WTGF's daily activities and challenges through a variety of means, including operational and financial reports, and discussions with management and others at board and committee meetings.

LEADERSHIP

Emmanuel-Desire Abbey

Emmanuel is a Results-driven humanitarian activist with 10 years of experience developing innovative programs that serve the less fortunate among us and deeply committed to improving the lives of under-privileged populations. He has proven the ability to provide team leadership, driving performance, program improvement and quality initiatives.

Visionary leader known for his ability to win community support, develop key coalitions and build relationships with a shared sense of purpose, Emmanuel has a Degree in Political Economy & International Relations and a Masters in Industrial Engineering. As the current Chairman & President, Emmanuel Abbey joined the World Togolese Foundation in 2009 with one thing in mind; promote the development of his beloved country Togo through education, micro projects and economic incentive programs while adopting a grass root approach for more sustainable results.

 

Didier Wunaki

Didier is the Co-Chair of the Board and Director of Communications - currently resides in Indianapolis, Indiana. He is a former member of the Utah Press Association and former staff member of the CPA (Catholic Press Association) - United States and Canada. He joined the World Togolese Foundation 1999 and has an extensive background in a variety of leadership roles and played a pivotal role in the revitalization of the WTGF when he was the Vice President of the organization.

His experience spans marketing, sales, advertising, graphic designing, media placement and project management. In addition to his passion for humanitarian actions, he generally likes to participate in outdoor activities during the summer, travel around the world and read when he gets the chance. One of his favorite quotes is “what I do you cannot do; but what you do, I cannot do. The needs are great, and none of us, including me, ever do great things. But we can all do small things, with great love, and together we can do something wonderful” by Mother Teresa.

Didier holds a Masters of Arts in Literature and Human Sciences from Université de Lomé and is a graduate of the University of Utah in Marketing Communications.

Dr. Vincent Agboto

Dr. Agboto is the Director of the Biostatistics at the Meharry Medical College in Nashville (Tennessee, USA). His current areas of research interests include the development of new Bayesian methodologies to design experiments and novel ways to design health disparity epidemiological studies. He is an adjunct assistant professor in the department of biostatistics at the Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Dr. Vincent Agboto is currently involved in many National Institutes of Health (NIH) and Center of Disease Control (CDC) funded collaborative health disparity research in youth violence, injury prevention, health disparities in HIV/AIDS, diabetes and cancer with faculty at Meharry Medical College and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

He is involved in development and community health projects in the United States and Togo (West Africa). He has published peer reviewed articles in Bayesian experimental designs and health disparities and has coauthored technical reports in statistics. He has made research presentations in statistics and public health during professional meetings or seminars at John Hopkins University (MD), Washington University (MO), Cambridge University (UK), Durban (South Africa), Gaborone (Botswana) and Lome (Togo) among others. Dr. Agboto joined the WTGF in 2010.

5. New Paradigms for epidemiological study designs
6. Health disparity in cancer, HIV/AIDS and women health

Dr. Sharon Ingram

Dr. Sharon Ingram is the Executive Director at BanaMobile Resource Center in Mobile, Alabama. Her responsibilities include, but not limited to, business planning, enterprise accountability, research and development, marketing, international relations, advocacy and social development. Dr. Ingram's interests are broad and varied.

Early in her career, she was moved by the suffering experienced worldwide in Foreign and Third World countries, especially by women and children.  As an educator and counselor, she worked with people of diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds.

Her life's work has been supporting and helping those with various issues facing their families or other life challenges. Her work has taken her all over the country and the world destined to make a difference.
 
Dr. Ingram received a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Social Work at Southern Arkansas University. She received a PhD in Theology at Northwestern School of Theology and currently pursuing a PhD in Laws at Novus School of Law.
